The lands of Runescape were all far away from lovely. Scamming, arguing, and a lot of hatred filled the veins of the continent. My name is Christina, I was fifthteen at the time of the attack, that left me homeless, but worse split me from the only family that I hated the most, my ex-boyfriend.
One star filled night I sat looking out from my house planted on a farm, surrounded by a vast number of fields. It was a serene view that would never be forgotten in my mind. I sat perched on my bed reading a book that was filled to the brim with information about the Elven civilization, it bored me but that was normal. I wasn’t much of a reader anyways. In the midst of it, I heard steps on my front porch, and a cluck of some chickens. I got up, straightened my dress, and walked to the door, to find my boyfriend at the time, and to only see what seemed to be one of his pals drunker than my grandfather long past.
"Where have you been? I was worried sick!" He just gave me a glance walked in pushed me out of the way.
"Get your stuff ready we are leaving…" I was furious, but I had no say so I just grabbed what I could and didn’t question him.
"The king of the black dragons attacked the city to the north… it’s heading here now." Kyle was his name… he was the one that kept his cool in times of panic.
"Mr. Revo lost his house in Varrock… I was lucky enough to drag him out." He looked at me strangely… well the same drunk face I always knew was there. I hated that face.
"We should be going now Kyle… the ship wont stay in dock very long." Mr. Revo stood at the door holding a dagger… as if waiting for an attacker it gave me an unpleasant fear of him.
"Very well… we leave now." He grabbed my pack of belongings and showed me out of the door into the cold atmosphere outside.
The events after that… I knew little of. What seemed like a day at the most of drifting in nothing but water. I had fears of death, fears of getting sick. I was alone to start with… I was placed on a board floating peacefully in the ocean. Seagulls flapped around my head… even one perched on it. It ticked me off a lot, pecking at my cold skull. I patted it off and sat on the board. Several large boats sat in a dock… my heart leapt with excitement… but slowly I calmed down…. As no one was there to greet me. This continent was nothing but a wasteland. Or so I thought?
